Age Is Not a Handicap

“But the godly shall flourish like palm trees, and grow tall as the cedars of Lebanon.  For they are transplanted into the Lord’s own garden, and are under his personal care.  Even in old age they will still produce fruit and be vital and green.  This honors the Lord, and exhibits his faithful care.  He is my shelter.  There is nothing but goodness in him!”  Psalm 92:12-15

God always has plans for each person who belongs to Him.  If I am a person who seeks the Lord, who believes in the Lord’s Salvation, and has surrendered my life to Him, then I have become His.  If that is true, He has work for me to do as long as I am still breathing.  He has also promised to give us everything we need to serve where He asks, and more than enough left to share.  So, He will give me vitality in old age: the strength, energy and mental alertness I need to do what He has planned for me at this time.  I need not fear aging.  All it does is add experience to the list of God’s gifts.
